Independent Butternut Box Ambassador · UK

Fresh food your dog will actually finish.

Hi! I'm DoggyWooff50 — an independent Butternut Box ambassador and chief pack-opener to one very food-mad dog. Butternut Box makes gently cooked, human-grade meals, personalised to your dog and delivered to your door. I recommend it for one simple reason: it's the food that gets the bowl licked clean in this house.

The honest bit

What does it actually cost, per day?

Fresh dog food has a reputation for being pricey, so let's do the maths like mates rather than a marketing email. Your exact price depends on your dog — size, age, appetite, recipe — and the two-minute quiz shows you the real number before you commit to anything. As a rough guide, most plans land somewhere around £2–3 a day. For a sense of scale:

  • A high-street coffee ≈ £4 — gone in 20 minutes
  • A Friday takeaway for two ≈ £25 — gone in 15
  • Butternut Box, personalised & delivered ≈ £2–3 a day — a month of fresh dinners

Figures are honest estimates (September 2026) — your quiz quote is the accurate one for your dog.

And here's the bit I can actually do something about: your first two boxes are half price with my ambassador code. The trial is the cheapest it will ever be — and the verdict that matters is your dog's.

Inside the delivery

What actually arrives in the box

No mystery pouches, no grey kibble dust. Here's what turns up at your door:

  • Gently cooked, properly made

Real ingredients you'd recognise — meat, veg, and grains where they help — cooked slowly at low temperatures so the nutrients and flavour survive. It looks like food because it is.

  • Portioned for your dog

Every pack is worked out from your dog's weight, age and energy — not an average dog. Feeding is scoop-free and there's no guessing.

  • Cooked in UK kitchens

Made in this country, in kitchens built for dog dinners — then delivered straight to your door.

  • B Corp certified

Independently audited on how it treats workers, community and planet — not just profit. Good food, run like a good business.

  • Flexible by design

Pause, skip, change recipes or cancel from your account. No phone queues, no retention scripts.

  • Fridge & freezer friendly

A few days' worth lives in the fridge; the rest stacks in the freezer. Thaw overnight, serve, done.

Plain English

Fresh vs raw vs kibble

Every dog-food aisle throws these words around. Here's the no-jargon version.

Kibble & dried

Cooked hot, shelf-stable

Cooked at high heat and extruded into pellets. Cheap, convenient, lasts months in the cupboard. The trade-off: high-heat processing cuts some nutrients, and many recipes lean on fillers to hold it all together.

Raw

Uncooked, unprocessed

Meat, bones and organs with minimal processing — that's the appeal. The trade-off: daily raw-meat handling, doing your own nutritional balancing, and a freezer permanently on dog duty.

the middle path

Fresh, gently cooked

Cooked low and slow

Proper ingredients cooked gently — warm enough to be safe and fridge-friendly, light enough to keep nutrients and flavour in. Personalised, pre-portioned, delivered.

Honest verdict: raw isn't wrong and kibble isn't evil — plenty of dogs do fine on both. Gently cooked fresh food just sits in a sensible sweet spot: much of the benefit of fresh, none of the raw-meat juggling, personalised and delivered.

Fit check

Who's it for?

Honestly? Any dog whose human wants to feed better. But these are the dogs I hear about most:

  • Fussy eaters

Dogs who inspect every bowl like a health inspector. Fresh food smells and tastes like actual food, which tends to end the standoffs. Serve it at room temperature; thank me later.

  • Itchy skin & sensitive tummies

Owners often tell me the first changes they notice are better poos and less scratching. Every dog is different — but gut health is where gently cooked food tends to earn its keep.

  • Puppies

The first year sets habits and bodies. Plans adjust as your pup grows, so portions stay right from gangly to giant-pawed.

  • Golden oldies

Softer on older teeth than dry kibble, with portions tuned for slower days and creakier joints.

  • Weight watching

Pre-portioned packs end the guesswork — helpful for breeds where every pound matters. Dachshunds, I'm looking at you.

  • Multi-dog households

Each dog gets their own plan and their own packs — so the Labrador finally stops stealing the whippet's dinner.

One honest note: if your dog has a medical condition, loop in your vet before switching any food. Fresh food supports good vet care — it doesn't replace it.

Simple by design

How it works — three steps, two minutes

  1. Tell them about your dog

A short quiz — breed, age, weight, body shape, any fussiness or sensitivities. A couple of minutes, and you'll see your exact price before you pay anything.

  2. Get a personalised plan

Recipes and portions built around your dog, not an average dog. Change recipes or tweak portions whenever life changes.

  3. Cooked, packed, delivered

Meals are gently cooked in UK kitchens and delivered to your door. Pause, skip or cancel anytime from your account.

No hard sell

Questions people actually ask me

Is it actually worth it?

That depends what you're comparing it to. Next to a bag of value kibble, no — it costs more, and I won't pretend otherwise. Next to your daily coffee, or the vet bill for a dog with an unhappy tummy, it's a different story. Most plans work out around £2–3 a day, your first two boxes are half price, and the only review that counts is your dog's. Do the quiz, see your real number, and decide from there.

What if my dog doesn't like it?

Dogs vote with their bowls, so make it easy for them to say yes: switch over gradually over about a week, serve at room temperature, and keep portions consistent. If your dog still stages a protest, message me — between a few tricks I've learned and the support Butternut's team offers, we'll get it sorted. And because the first two boxes are half price, a no-vote costs you far less than a full-price experiment.

Can I pause, skip or cancel?

Yes — all of it, anytime, from your account. Skip a delivery when you're away, pause for a holiday, or cancel outright. No phone calls, no guilt trips, no "are you sure?" maze.

How does the 50% discount work?

Order through my link or enter my ambassador code Doggywooff50 at checkout, and your first two boxes are half price. After that you're on normal pricing — which you'll see in the quiz before you sign up. You can change or cancel your plan whenever you like.

Is this page an ad?

No. I'm an independent ambassador — I feed this food to my own dog, and I earn a referral credit when someone new signs up with my code. That's the entire arrangement, stated plainly, so you know exactly what you're looking at.

Ready to see if your dog agrees?

Two minutes to your personalised plan. Half price on your first two boxes. And a bowl that finally gets licked clean.
